Multiethnic | Eph. 2:11-12
Dr. Alan Brumback   -

Paul is writing to Christians in Ephesus where he had spent two years planting this church. Both the church and the city were ethnically diverse. With diversity, came division, racism, and hatred. Scholars say that “around the time that Paul was writing these words that Jews and Gentiles were murdering each other in the streets of Caesarea. Paul does not sweep around the subject but addresses the multi-ethnic implications to the gospel. The gospel is paradigm shifting. The gospel teaches us that the walls of hostility have been destroyed by the work of Christ paving the way forward for the church in the world.
